Bridget Kearney Franks January 16, 1929 to June 14, 2020.

In loving memory of Bridget Kearney Franks who passed away peacefully at the Temiskaming Hospital at the age of 91.

Born in England and spending much of her youth in Ireland, Bridget returned to England to raise her children. In 1979 she married Robert Franks and moved to Rhodesia. In 1980 they moved to Haileybury, where she became a dedicated member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church and a member of the local chapter of the I.O.D.E.,

Predeceased by her husband Robert, son-in-law Kevin, granddaughters Ingrid and Joanne, and great granddaughter D’Arcy. She will be fondly remembered by her children Lucy Bilinski (Bill), James Franks (Jennifer), Daphne Beecham (Art), Cynthia Wilson (David), Patricia Torr, Maureen Steward (Richard). Sister: Charmaine, grandchildren: Tanya, Bryan, Lisa, Desmond, Gordon, Matthew, Nina, Tristan, Kelly, Sarah, David, Curtis, Dean and Evan, as well as many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews around the world.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Temiskaming Hospital and the Northdale Manor for caring for Bridget during the final stages of her life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Pauls & St. John’s Anglican Church.

In keeping with Mrs Franks' wishes, cremation has taken place at Lakeview Crematorium, Haileybury. A memorial service will take place on September 12, 2020 at 2pm at St. Paul's and St. John's Anglican church in Haileybury. Condolences and contributions may be left at www.buffamleveille.com.

Bridget befriended our family with a warmth that helped eases the shock of our transition from Cape Town to Haileybury. Her unrivalled cheeriness and faith in God always boosted our spirits. Her great kindness and friendship towards our family and especially my Mom produced magical memories which we console ourselves with during this time. Her unconditional faith is a rarity in todays world. Amidst all the inevitable ups and downs of life it is people like Bridget who bring succour and solace. Her tinkling laughter and "fluting" always brought a calm to any situation.
Her optimism, kindness and undying faith in God was an inspiration to anyone who knew her. I take comfort in the fact that she is now in peace, and hopefully sharing a chat and a laugh with my beloved father. RIP Bridget. You will be greatly missed.

Bridget welcomed our family to Haileybury many years ago. She instantly provided the support and connection to community that we so desperately needed to adjust to our new Northern environment. I have so many fond memories of Bridgets’ questioning and laughing manner. And the delicious festive dinners she hosted. She will be sorely missed.
